David Catalán returned to Milan Fashion Week with the presentation of its FW26/27 collection, ASSEMBLED.
Presented as part of the official Milan Fashion Week calendar, the runway show translated the collection’s core idea into a clear, forward-moving sequence, where garments were designed to work together rather than stand alone. ASSEMBLED approached winter dressing through logic and function, focusing on how pieces are built, reinforced, layered, and ultimately worn.
The starting point for the collection was the practical intelligence found in traditional patchwork blankets. Not as a visual reference, but as a method. The way different materials are joined, reinforced, and adapted over time informed the construction of the garments. This logic was reinterpreted through paneled cuts, controlled volumes, and a restrained material palette, resulting in a contemporary winter wardrobe conceived as a system.
Throughout the runway, tailored fabrics were combined with denim and leather, while coated and plasticized finishes introduced subtle contrast. Wool, cashmere, and velvet provided warmth and structure, reinforcing the collection’s focus on durability and everyday wearability. The silhouettes balanced precision and ease, allowing pieces to layer naturally and function across different contexts.
The show soundtrack, “Unexpected (Runway Cut)” by Modernista.Lab, accompanied the walk with a continuous, forward-driving rhythm, reinforcing the sense of momentum and cohesion that defined the presentation.
The FW26/27 runway was supported by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and hosted at Fondazione Sozzani, further solidifying David Catalán’s position within the international menswear landscape. The show was realized with the co-production and organizational support of Portugal Fashion, promoted by ANJE, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to Made in Portugal manufacturing and craftsmanship.
