SS26 MFW: Diogo Figueiredo Behind the Music Direction of David Catalán’s Runway
The upcoming David Catalán’s SS26 Runway during Milan Fashion Week will feature an exclusive original soundtrack directed by Portuguese composer and sound artist Diogo Figueiredo (@taseh_ on instagram) .
With a career spanning over 15 years across music, sound design, and cultural production, Diogo Figueiredo brings a layered and evocative sonic atmosphere to David’s "PROBLEMS" collection. His work is known for weaving experimental beats, ambient textures, and narrative-driven soundscapes — making him the ideal creative partner to underscore the themes of contrast and craft that define this season’s proposal.
A founding member of the independent label Monster Jinx since 2008, Diogo has built a respected name within the underground and contemporary music scenes in Portugal. Alongside DJ SlimCutz, he is also co-creator of Roger Plexico, a project currently working on its next studio release.
In the field of sound design and musical composition, Diogo has collaborated with some of the most influential names in the Portuguese art and music landscape — including Vhils, Bordalo II, Capicua, Valete, and Bezergol — as well as numerous fashion brands, art festivals, filmmakers, and theatre companies.
“I didn’t want just a soundtrack — I wanted a sound that captured the tension and identity of the collection,” says David. “Diogo understood that immediately. The atmosphere he created brought a new emotional dimension — the name PROBLEMS was directly influenced by it.”
The SS26 collection, titled “PROBLEMS”, is a study in contrast and construction, inspired by Portuguese craftsmanship such as the manta alentejana and the guizo (a traditional shepherd’s bell) that is proudly MADE IN PORTUGAL. Diogo’s contribution helps bring this universe to life through sound — setting the tone for a collection that speaks not only to the eye, but also to the ear.
David Catalán’s SS26 runway show will take place on June 23, 2025, at 9:30 CEST at Fondazione Sozzani in Milan, as part of the official Milan Fashion Week calendar and with the co-organization of Portugal Fashion and ANJE. The show will also be livestreamed via the official Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana platform and also throught David Catalán’s official website.
